This video about Sea Trout fly fishing in the Kharlovka river. Full version of TV program will be released only on Russian TV channel RTG (Russian Travel Guide).
Last year I together with the TV channel made a new project. This project is about Atlantic Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout fly fishing in the rivers of the Kola Peninsula. We’ve spent some time on the river Rynda, Kharlovka and Eastern Litza and made four films. The filming process held in mid-July.
On the day of filming was beautiful weather with light winds and a warm sunny day. In the beginning I started to fish in the estuary the river runs into the sea with a shallow waters. On that day I saw a lot of big Sea Trout are rolling in the waves. During the first hour of fishing I’ve tried different flies, but hadn’t any success, only a few light touches.
After I started to try my favorite nymph. Best were small nymphs #12-14 hook. like scud and floating nimph (light body, olive thorax and pearl rudiments of wings) all nymphs were heavier with lead wire and tungsten head. The small nymphs Sea Trout took very aggressive. I lost a few big Sea Trout who run in to the sea and taken  almost all backing on my reel.
This filming process was memorable!
